Welcome

Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors,

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I welcome you to Pluckley Church of England Primary School in Pluckley, Kent. We are a vibrant, nurturing and family orientated school with a strong community ethos.  This caring community of learners thrives due to the fantastic and dedicated staff family, governors, supportive parents and happy, engaged children and I am so proud to be the Headteacher.

At Pluckley Church of England Primary School we believe that all children thrive in an environment in which they are happy, challenged and secure: secure in the knowledge they are safe and cared for; challenged to achieve their best; and happy in the knowledge they are each appreciated for their individuality and their achievements.

Lorraine SmithWe have high expectations of all our children in every aspect of school life. We are committed to providing an excellent education helping children to achieve by developing enquiring minds and instilling the motivation to learn. We nurture pupil’s ability to work both independently and collaboratively, whilst being confident in taking risks with their own learning. We endeavour to enable them each to achieve their potential through high standards of behaviour and outstanding learning experiences. We aim to enable them to develop self-confidence and independence, recognising that each and everyone has a part to play as a responsible member of their community.

The environment we provide for this is stimulating and exciting with recognition that education takes place both inside and outside the classroom and through a range of learning styles.

Within our community, we welcome the parents and carers of our pupils, acknowledging the vital role they play in the education of their children. An active partnership and effective collaboration between home and school ensures our children are provided with a start to their life that they deserve as unique individuals.

Choosing the right primary school for your child can be one of the hardest decisions that we as parents have to make. At Pluckley Church of England Primary School, we strive to do the best we can for our children in the way that is best for them. Our children experience great learning through our enriching and powerful curriculum, whilst developing their spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding.

At the heart of everything we do are our Christian REFLECT values; respect, enjoyment, friendship, leadership, endeavour, cooperation and trust. These are promoted in all aspects of school life and, we believe, are important values for our children to take with them into the future. Our Christian ethos encourages a real sense of community and the family nature of the school means that children can be themselves in a safe and caring environment. As a church school our faith is precious and central to every part of our lives. The way that we treat each other, the way that we look for every day opportunities to help those in need and in the example that we demonstrate to all those we meet.

In short, Pluckley Church of England Primary School is a school, where all children from all backgrounds and abilities can be safe, successful and happy. It is a school where we provide opportunities for children to develop as independent, confident, successful learners with high aspirations who know how to make a positive contribution to their community. It is a school where, together, we thrive!

We are proud of our school and its place within the community of Pluckley, the wider community of Ashford as well as our place within the TKAT family.
